SnowDayOdds.com is a general audience weather utility designed to work without an account, school name, student profile, or advertising identity.
Location search
A location search is sent to a geocoding provider only after you submit it. Street searches are immediately generalized to a recognizable local area; the raw search is not stored in application analytics or placed in a public URL. If you choose device location, the browser asks permission and coordinates are rounded before submission. Precise device coordinates are not stored in analytics.
Saved and recent locations
Saved locations, recent searches, and prior visit comparisons are stored in your browser. They contain a canonical area identifier and public label, not a student, school, grade, age, password, or precise home address.
Email alerts
Alerts are optional. SnowDayOdds.com stores only the selected email address, consent record, canonical saved location, Snow Day threshold, verification status, and limited delivery history. Secure management links allow immediate unsubscribe and permanent deletion. Bounced or complained-about addresses may retain a minimal suppression record so the opt out remains enforceable.
Separate communication choices
Forecast alert consent and promotional consent are separate. Neither promotional option is preselected. You may stop promotional email without stopping forecast alerts, stop all email, or delete your contact information.
Analytics
When internal analytics is enabled, SnowDayOdds.com records allowlisted product events, a random session identifier, canonical area context, coarse campaign and device categories, and a retention deadline. The application database does not store raw IP addresses, full browser identification strings, raw resolved search strings, precise coordinates, or advertising identifiers.
Children’s privacy
SnowDayOdds.com does not ask for a child’s name, age, grade, school, student ID, public profile, or messaging account. Personalized advertising is off by default. Any future feature that changes this posture requires a new child audience and legal review.
